| | Ah at last my brain was connected!
So, you can edit if the meaning is fine. |
| | 2008年 5月 28日 19:47 |
| | Done! |
| | 2008年 5月 28日 19:52 |
| | I think that your translation is right Lilian, (I trust you) but since my Spanish=0, we better ask the poll too. |
| | 2008年 5月 28日 21:18 |
| | Of course! |
| | 2008年 5月 28日 21:46 |
| | Is it only my impression, or you translated the sentence putting the verb in the infinitive, lilian? It seems to me the verb in the original text is in the past tense, and some accents are missing: "en chile estudié enfermerÃa a nivel superior". |
| | 2008年 5月 28日 21:49 |
| | Hm ...maybe you shall write "Studerade vid..." if this is past tense. ? |
| | 2008年 5月 28日 22:07 |
| | I translated it into imperative, actually.
I was also in doubt about the exact meaning, that's what happens when a text in the request lacks diacritics. What made me decide about the tense was that in Spanish if it was past tense it should have probably been "he estudiado", but of course we can't count that the writer would use the correct tense.
I think we could write the alternative translation in the remarks. And, of course set it as "meaning only"
What do you think? |
| | 2008年 5月 28日 22:08 |
| | Sounds good to me. |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 05:42 |
| | Isn't "nivel superior" a "university level" or something like that? |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 15:27 |
| | Lilian,
I can see that your votes are positive but what about Caspers question ? |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 16:20 |
| | Yes, "a nivel superior" means at university level. |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 16:28 |
| | Stupid question now ...but
Is it better then to write: "Studera till sjuksköterska på universitetsnivå i Chile."
Is that the meaning? |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 17:11 |
| | I'd rather leave it as is. I think using "high level" conveys the meaning better. |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 17:37 |
| | That's ok! I feel a bit like I am hunting you Lilian, but since I don't understand Spanish as you know ..I have to ask all this questions.
|
| | 2008年 5月 29日 17:54 |
| | Ooops, I saw something now, we are Not using "high level" in the text.
förstklassig = first-class
hög nivå = high level
But I agree with you to leave it as it is.
|
| | 2008年 5月 29日 18:00 |
| | Remember my first translation?
It was:
"Studera hög stånd sjuksöterskeskola i Chile" |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 18:15 |
| | Yes, but you can't write like that...
"Studera på hög nivå vid sjuksköterskeskola i Chile"
Better? |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 18:32 |
| | Lilian,
is the meaning here that the school is a "first class school" or that the studies are at high level (like university) ?
I don't get it, sorry! |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 18:41 |
| | the studies are at high level |
| | 2008年 5月 29日 18:55 |
| | Ok
So my suggest is that we start a new poll now, since the meaning is different after your edits.
I'll do that!
I wonder why so many people voted positive.. |
