The requester should correct this line.
It could be: porque estou gripada.
porque me gripei.
´porque estou com gripe. | | | 22 Mars 2008 20:38 | | piasAntal inlägg: 8113 | Lilian,
couldn't we just set this translation to "meaning only" ?

could we set it to "meaning only" now ?

Is the word order correct in the Swedish translation? Would it not be more correct to say "Eftersom jag är med..." in stead of "Eftersom är jag med..."? Here I have the feeling that Danish and Swedish are very similar.
I still think it is kind of a problem that people who are not native speakers or frequent users of a language ends up with accepted translation, which may be accepted by persons who also are not native speakers or frequent users of a language. BECAUSE after an accepted translation this translation may be the bais of translation into so many other languages. AND then built-in grammar or word order mistakes could be the reason for many even more incorrect translations...
I hope someone sees my point.
Best greetings from Sismo (now with a cold) | | | 30 Mars 2008 15:00 | | piasAntal inlägg: 8113 | Hi sismo!
No, the word order is NOT correct in Swedish, you are right about that we (Danish Swedish are similar). Since this is "meaning only" I accepted it. The source text is also kind of "strange" as you can read in the notes.
Here are some written words about how we shall relate to translations that are "Meaning only":
"Meaning only" translations correspond to requests focused on the meaning and not on the form. You can accept the translation even if the form is approximative (only if the meaning is right of course). You must ask yourself this question : If I was the user who requested the translation, would I understand the meaning of the source text reading this translation? If the answer is "Yes", you can accept it. Of course you can use the poll to help you to evaluate these translations.
I agree with you that translations shall be as good as you can make them, but in this case when the source was vague.. I accepted it as it was. And even if the Swedish is a bit "strange", it's easy to understand what it is all about.
Hope that you’re cold will go away …we have beautiful spring today here…sun, sun, sun.
Greetings Pia
