Biz hep çocuk kalmalıydık aslında.
Üç taş, üç cam olmalıydı hayat.
En büyük kavgamız gazoz kapağından çıkmalıydı
ve en büyük acımız
öğretmenimizin başka şehre tayini olmalıydı.
Biz hep çocuk kalmalıydık aslında.
Büyümeğe özenmeliydik büyümeden...

In fact, we should remain children.

In fact, we should have remained children.
Life should have consisted of three stones and three windows.
Our biggest fight should have come out of the cap of a bottle of mineral water.
And our greatest pain should have been the appointment of our teacher to another city
We should have remained children actually.
We should have practised growing up before we did.
The so-called "human being"
Isn't it a stone that gets tired walking, and cries when it gets tired?
It's not difficult to understand
You're the moment, the instant lived.

Hi rocitizen,

There are two sentences I don't understand:

1 - And our greatest pain should have been the appointment of our teacher in another city.

2 - Isn't it a stone that gets tired walking, crying by tiring?

Could you explain that in different words?

Laura, perhaps you could help me here, please...

The idea of this is that the pain we experience should not be worse than these minor things we might have experienced as a child.

Our biggest fight should have emerged from the cap of a bottle of (sparkling) mineral water.

And our greatest pain should have been the re-assignment of our teacher to another city

In fact, we should have remained children.

...

Isn't the one who gets tired while walking and who cries when tired a stone? - to be honest, I don't understand this one, but that's what it means.

Done. I did quite a bit of editing and then accepted it with a so-so rating.

"Isn't the so-called human being
A stone that gets tired of walking and the more it gets tired the more it cries?"

can this be better?

This was accepted almost half a year ago. I don't think we should be changing it now, although I admit that your version sounds better in English.

On the other hand, it's not that s/he gets tired of walking - it's that s/he gets tired while walking.
