| | What the requester is interested in (stated in her remarks) is: "(avant de se voir)" and this hasn't been translated. |
| | 7 Mart 2008 16:08 |
| | Dear lilian,
The author stated
"je ne veux pas la traduction pour ce qui est entre parenthese".
So I abstained, even if logically I wanted to translate further.
Best regards,
Tiary |

| | Tiary
all that is in the box for translation should be translated, being in parentheses or not. |
| | 7 Mart 2008 17:27 |
| | cucumis might want everything in the box translated and then it should be.
What the requester is interested in however, is the part not in parenthesis as stated in her remarks.
i stumbled on this page cuz i was just curious why someone gave a negative evaluation for translation
|
| | 7 Mart 2008 17:39 |
| | Sorry for what I said about the remarks, I didn't pay enough attention and got confused, but for the translation about the request in the box...it should be done anyway, even if the requester said he wasn't interested in what
was into parentheses.
He should have put the sentence as it is in the translation box, inside the remarks box, and what he wanted, in the translation box. Do you understand? Cucumis rules.
By the way, I've changed my vote. |
| | 7 Mart 2008 17:40 |
| | Why did the requester even add the part she/he didn't want? Sometimes, nothing makes sense...
Oh but anyway, I think you (Tiary) should add the translation to the second part of the text as well... (before they see each other)? It's simply a friendly suggestion.
(I was curious as well, kfeto... *laughs* ) |

| | Dear All,
I'm a sworn translator, so I'm used of taking into account everything that's requested.
Pls don't fool me with cucumis rules or whatever.
Regards (excuse me if this makes me rather nervous),

| | hey the reason i posted something in a topic i had no business with is because i backed you, tiary and disagreed with the response you got.
either way i can live with and abide by certain rules like the "translate all in box" rule which actually might be warranted.
that was not the issue, the issue was the attempt to blur a previously made incorrect statement by referring to rules.
sworn translator or not, getting used to reading posts more carefully before you post blanket "adressed to All" notices is also good

| | (avant de se voir) where is the translation?? |
| | 7 Mart 2008 19:02 |
| | Hi kfeto
... "the issue was the attempt to blur a previously made incorrect statement by referring to rules."
I don't think you should use this kind of statement to refer to what other members of Cucumis intend with their comments.
I think I made myself perfectly clear about being misunderstood the requester's remarks, and I apologized for that.
I didn't try to "blur" anything or I wouldn't have posted any replay.
I'd like you to be more careful about your posts.
We are hard workers here and as anyone, we can make mistakes sometimes.
You don't need to make a mountain out of a molehill.
Tiary:
Abiding by the rules is the first step here.
I didn't intend to fool you, sorry if you think so. You will be used to our system in a few days, I'm sure, and your help will be precious for us.
Don't think that you are the only worn translator in our group, most of us are.
I didn't mean to be rude either.
I hope this episode is over and we can all work together nicely.
Best regards.
Lilly.
