Poslednja poruka | | | | | 27 Oktobar 2007 20:19 | | | smy, your translation of the main body of this text is fine, but I don't think the beginning is correct:
1) I think the child's name is Bekar Islam.
2) I don't think "olum sag" means "death alive" - that's meaningless in English anyway. How about "boy, healthy" (oÄŸlum saÄŸ)?
3) "Düsünceler" probably should be "Comments".
Obviously, there are many errors in the way the Turkish was transcribed here, so all we can give them is our best guess.
P.S. The title (in Portuguese) is "Birth Certificate", so that should give us a clue. | | | 28 Oktobar 2007 12:12 | | smyBroj poruka: 2481 | Yes it has errors and, some lines in the certificate was joined together neglecting the explanatory fields before them:
1. "Bekar" is not used as a name, at least I've never seen it as the name of a person, probably it was this way:
Marital status: Bachelor
( this one has the Marital status field)
and "Islam" also isn't used as a person's name as far as I know, so it was this way:
Religion: Islam
Actually, the fields in our identity cards (nüfus cüzdanı) are written this way.
2. Death Alive it's meaningless in Turkish also, and our identity cards don't contain something of this kind but considering the "Events and Dates:" before it I'm sure it's "Death Alive"
(I don't think it's probable to say here "oÄŸlum saÄŸ", some fields are joined together again but I can't figure out which/what ones)
| | | 28 Oktobar 2007 14:54 | | | serba, can you give your opinion on this? CC: serba | | | 28 Oktobar 2007 15:49 | | | SMY and Kafetzou, thank you very much for your cooperation.
I don't speak Turk. Because of this, I believe that I must have written many wrong words. But it was possible to understand the meaning and this helped me very much. | | | 29 Oktobar 2007 05:13 | | smyBroj poruka: 2481 | you're welcome Naomi2007, could you tell us what does "Olaylar ve Tarihler: Olum Sag =Events and Dates: Death Alive" mean? it doesn't make any sense to us, what about you?
| | | 29 Oktobar 2007 07:00 | | | I understood that they want to say Notary's office of birth and death certificate. | | | 29 Oktobar 2007 07:15 | | smyBroj poruka: 2481 | so it's something that makes some sense? Thank you. |
