Ticks belong to Acarina class, of which there are about 850 known species in the world, grouped in three families: Hard ticks, or Ixodidae, represent around 670 of known species; they have areas of thick chitinous integument. The Argasidae, approximately 180 species, have a an un-ossified integument which gave them the name of “soft ticks”. Only one Nuttalliellidæ has been identified, it belongs to a family intermediate to the two previous.

Hi Madeleine

I would remove the "The" at the beginning and start directly "Ticks belong to...", and
replace "and" par "of which" => "of which there are about 850…"

I suggest you put chitinous, and maybe "integument".

You have a typo in the word "Argasidae"

The French reads "un tégument sans sclérification", and though, from a scientific point of view, you are probably right, your mistranslate the French. The phrase should read "an un-ossified integument" or something similar.

Maybe you could put "Only" instead of "Just", and you should put "has been" instead of "was", and remove the "and" after "identified"

An "intermediary" is a go-between, a mediator, you mistook it for the word "intermediate" , so maybe the phrase needs turning round a little. What about "…has been identified, it belongs to a family intermediate to the two previous".

Hello, Tantine

I thank you for your message, and most of all, for your tolerance.

I agree with you, 100%.

I have made the changes, but I don't know if I deserve to have this translation accepted.

Hi Madeleine

Why on earth would you think your work doens't deserve to be accepted? It is an excellent piece of work.

I am a nit picker and what's more, I had just finished working on the same text when I saw that your translation was ready for evaluation. I had some precise ideas about the phrasing.

Your work is very good, and technical texts are always more difficult, so don't worry at all , you deserve your points, and the rating I am giving you

Multimesc for your efforts here on cucumis
