Landscape painting, one of the basic themes of Western painting, has also constituted one of the main dynamics of Turkish painting since its inception. Starting in the mid-1950s, artists who approached the human body with a specific distance due to social and religious reasons embarked upon a way of expressing their feelings through a limited piece of nature. When scrutinizing these works, we can see that a good number of artists who contributed to the modernisation process were interested in and curious about landscape painting.
