1)"A number of" Türkçe'de "çoğu" anlamına gelir, "bir kısmı" ise ""some" ya da "partial" filan olması gerek.
2)"We were expecting payment of last week" metine göre değil. "We expected to be collected by the end of last week" olabilir. Aynı şekilde "this week" ise "by the end of this week" olur.

2)to expect a cheque to be collected or expect payment of a cheque means the same
3)bu hafta icinde literally means 'within this week' so 'this week' is ok
maybe they'll pay in the middle of the week, maybe even the same day, in the turkish they don't say it'll be the end of the week
