Ultimele mesaje | | | | | 18 Decembrie 2009 16:10 | | | The same here. Is there a conjugated verb? CC: gamine | | | 18 Decembrie 2009 16:50 | | gamineNumărul mesajelor scrise: 4611 | Sorry Lilian, I was away. Yes the verb "at tegne"
Which means : "to draw", bu in this context "To sign". | | | 18 Decembrie 2009 17:09 | | | But it's into infinitive, isn't it? | | | 18 Decembrie 2009 17:22 | | gamineNumărul mesajelor scrise: 4611 | No. In Danish it's present tense but I'd translate it by : " the Society shall be signed by the Manager/director" because it would sound weird in present tense in English or maybe "The Society is signed by....... I find it quite difficult to translate, though it's a very simple sentence. | | | 18 Decembrie 2009 22:45 | | | Lilian, is not Anita_Luciano the Danish expert? She knows very well the rules, why don't you address directly to her? In the end, she was the one who submitted the text.
It is absolutely hilarious. | | | 18 Decembrie 2009 23:55 | | | Hi iepurica,
It's true that Anita is an expert for Danish and also the requester of the line, however I tried to address a user who was available at the moment and as a native speaker and a reliable power-cucumer, Gamine could be able to help. And she was, indeed
I don't see anything "hilarious" about it
@ Lene,
Thanks, dear
CC: iepurica | | | 19 Decembrie 2009 00:28 | | | My internet hasn´t been working all day so I have just seen your discussion now... The verb is not in the normal present tense, it´s in the passive form. The sentence means "the company is signed by the director" - Actually, I submitted this request in the hope of somebody finding/knowing the translation of the very first word: "tegningsregel" in English and - more importantly - in Portuguese (probably based on the English translation which therefore has to be correct).
Ah, and just for the record: Yes, I am very well aware of the submission rules on Cucumis ;-) |
