This was the candle he had in his hand last night. He saw several letters on it but he couldn’t make them out, the candle disappeared again. During his return home from school he was thinking about all these things. When evening came, he began to fear. He went to sleep, but he couldn't possibly fall asleep. Hi Sunnybebek, I've got some suggestions for some small edits..:

Bu mum dün gece elinde olan mumdu. - This candle is the candle he had in his hand last night.

Okul dönüşü tüm bunları düşünerek eve gitti. - During his return home from school he was thinking about these things.

Üstünde "Sen Öleceksin" yazıyordu. - (...) and 'You Will Die' was written on it.

Mum canlanmıştı... - The candle came to life

But as for me "dun gece elinde olan" --> which was in his/her hand last night.
So "Bu mum dün gece elinde olan mumdu" --> This candle, which was in his/her hand last night, was a candle.

hmm.. but that doesn't really make any sense, is it a 'good' sentence in turkish if you translate it like this? 'dun gece elinde olan mum, mumdu.' ?
