Source language: Turkish

Yar gitme, ben sensiz yaÅŸayamam
Yar gitme, göz bebeğimsin, dayanamam
Dur gitme, seviyorum, unutamam
Yar gitme, içimde sin atamam
Remarks about the translation
I want to translate English

Title
Sweetheart don't go, I cannot live without you
Translation
English

Translated by kafetzou
Target language: English

Sweetheart don't go, I couldn't live without you
Sweetheart don't go, you are the apple of my eye, I couldn't bear it
Stop - don't go, I love you, I couldn't forget
Sweetheart don't go, you are inside of me, I couldn't get you out
Remarks about the translation
I added the word "you" as the object of "love" and "get ... out", because otherwise it wouldn't make sense in English.

hi kafetzou
wouldn't "could't" be more suitable?
ok that sounded confusing....

Where? Do you mean instead of "cannot"? Why? It's not past tense.

Is there a real difference between saying "sensiz yaşayamam" and "sensiz yaşayamıyorum"? If so, you may be right that "couldn't" is a better translation.

the second is present actual situation, the first talks about the hypothetical or future;-) one.
it was just a thought anyways

Isn't that reversed?

second is "sensiz yaşayamıyorum" present -iyor
first is "sensiz yaÅŸayamam" conditional -am

i looked up some of the grammatical definitions(as i don't know them, only intuitively) and if i understand correctly , the second is not the conditional tense itself, but a negative potential mood used with a conditional tense.

Oh yes - sorry - I got mixed up as to which one you meant as first and second.

I changed it according to you suggestion, kfeto.
