“Ban” is a numismatic term. The name “ban” has been given to a category of coins representing the smallest nominal value in circulation in Wallachia within 1365 (the first coin emissions of Vladislav I) and 1462 (the end of the main regency of Vlad Ţepeş, the last Wallachian hospodar who seems to have issued this nominal).
In modern times, the name “ban” has been used and is still being used for the circulating coin having the smallest value, representing the 100th part of a Romanian “leu”.
Remarks about the translation
a "ban" is the equivalent of an American dollar "cent"
Ţara Românească = Wallachia or "The Romanian Land" is a historical and geographical region of Romania. It is situated north of the Danube and south of the Southern Carpathians.
"leu" is the Romanian currency (RON)

Muntenia (or Greater Wallachia) is a historical province of Romania, usually considered Wallachia (Muntenia, Ţara Românească, and the seldom used Valahia are synonyms in Romanian). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muntenia

I know, but the translation is correct, in my opinion, no reason for a - vote, Michel.

Thank you, Maddie, Burduf,

Muntenia was a part of Ţara Românească, indeed, but when Vlad Ţepeş ruled it was one and the same... actually the inhabitants of Ţara Românească were called "munteni".

Dear Lilian,

I saw you replaced "voivode" with "hospodar"
"Hospodar was used in addition to the title voivode." (Wikipedia).....
