Ich glaube eher, daß es "Schneideplatten" (plural) mit zwei "t" geschrieben wird.
Sonst wäre "platen" ein englischer Begriff.

Korrektur?

oder soll das bedeuten: "Ich schneide Platten" ??
(auch dann wären es zwei "t".

Möchtest Du nun ein Objekt (Schneideplatten) oder eine Tätigkeit "Platten schneiden" übersetzen lassen?

With the "e" I can't find it in my dictionary.

can be also! It doesn't make any difference w/ or w/o "e" Both versions have the same meaning and are correct.

The english and french translation, which I've suggested on the EN and FR -pages from this translation-reques I'd found on "www.leo.org" w/o the "e", too :-)

Hello, I use leo.org too and can't find it with the e
