| | Hi MIss. I've made a few tiny corrections and set a poll, however the last line doesn't sound well. What do you mean by "flow us"?
Is that: "overflow us"? or "flow from us"? |
| | 21 أذار 2009 18:12 |
| | Yes lilian, of course you're right. Could you edit that please?

| | May it not overflow us.
Thank you Lilian

| | ...I thought SHE would be mine... |

| | Hi Sevdalinka,
I guess in this sentence he speaks about the eyes because in the following sentence he use "you" to speak to the girl. If this sentence was talking about the girl I think he has used "you" also. |

| | I agree with Sevdalinka.
It can be also "I thought you would be mine", because "green eyes" are plural and "benim olacak" is singural.
for me ,it is
I was on fire for those green eyes
I thought you would be mine.

| | Hülya gönlünü egle Hülya
Hülya dally with somebody Hülya olamaz... |

| | I guess turkishmiss is right about "they would be mine" It might be 'SHE would' but we cannot be sure about this as the writer doesn't use any other preposition there. I guess "they would.." is more reliable.
onlar benim olacak
o benim olacak. I think there's nothing wrong with it. 'olacak' can be used in both. |

| | Okey, "they" or "she" is not really important here... Let it stay as it is
"Hülya gönlünü egle Hülya" I'd translate as "Hülya entertain your heart Hülya" or "Hülya ridicule your heart Hülya". |

| | Turkishmiss, thank you, I know it, but I'd translate that way. This is just my opinion, I think will be better to translate as "ridicule your heart". grbz_94 thoughts that those translation is not correct either. |

| | Grbz94,
do you still think "Hülya dally with somebody Hülya" is wrong translated?

| | In my opinion, both of you are right. gönül eğlemek or gönül eğlendirmek, they mean the same. You can say dally with someone or entertain your heart; or even we might say amuse yourself, or playing the field, maybe. So I think it's about translator's choice. |
