Ulubey ve çevresinde yapılan kazılarda bölgenin M.Ö. 4000 yılından beri yerleşim yeri olarak kullanıldığı bilinmektedir. Bölge önce Hititlere, daha sonra Friglere ve Lidyalılara geçtiği bilinmektedir. Özellikle Lidyalılar döneminde Ulubey’in önemi daha da artmıştır.
Ulubey according to the archaeological workings,ulubey and its contour have been used as a living centre since 4000 BC. At first it was known as an area of the Hittite, then it became Frigs' and Lydia's. Especially during the Lydia time Ulubey was very important.
