Text
Submitted by qrineflip

Remarks about the translation

Title
My alarm clock wakes me up at 06:00. I'm so tired
Translation
English

Translated by pias
Target language: English

My alarm clock wakes me up at 06:00. I'm so tired that I put it off for a while. The alarmclock sounds one more time at 06.15. I'm thinking of getting up, and that's probably what I must do. Tired as I am, I open my wardrobe and find some clothes to wear.
At 06:45 I wash my face, comb my hair etc. At about 07:00 I have my breakfast which mainly consists of oatmeal or yoghurt. After that I'm in a hurry, I do my hair, put make up and make my bed.

Hi Pia, it's me again!

I put it off for a while

..."that's probably what I'm being forced to"

Wouldn't that be "that's probably what I'm supposed to do", "what I should do", something like that?

cupboard----> wardrobe
combs-------> comb

I have my breakfast which mainly consists of...

make my bed.

What do you think?

I think gooood, thanks a lot Lilian!

Couldn't "that's probably what I'm being forced to" be just "that's probably what I must do." ?

it's not that i think the meaning is wrong, i just don't think it is translated into proper english. "havregrød" would be translated into simply "oatmeal" or "porridge" not both. "jeg sætter mit hår" should difinitely not be translated into "i make my hair" that's incorrect english, instead it should be something like "i do my hair" and "ligger sminke på" is "to apply make-up".
