| | I don't think so, I think the meaning is quite clear. The person looks forward for the night to come so s/he will be in bed with the other person. As Kafetzou said above, It has nothing to do with "sleeping". |

I'll ask Kafetzou to help me in the greek one!

| | Sorry but French is my mother tongue and I AM SURE there is no sexual connotation here. If you are not sure, please ask a native French educated person like Francky5591 for instance. |

| | dunya_guzel, I trust you. I think we should make sure that every language can be interpreted either way, if possible, though.
Francky, if you're back, Tantine, what do you think? CC: Tantine Francky5591 |

| | I agree with dunya_guzel, nothing indicates any sexual connotation in this text, even implicitely. |

| | Hi All
I agree with dunya_guzel and Francky that there is no implicit sexual connotation here. I would even add that “on†does not necessarily mean “we†in English and can be translated as “oneâ€. This phrase does not even imply that one or more persons will be sharing the same bed.
I could even suggest that “Can’t wait to go back to bed this evening†might be the least ambiguous way of translating this.
Hope this helps

| | "Vivement ce soir qu'on se couche"!
One often says this in France when one's tired (like from removing furniture all day).
It doesn't even mean the one who said that is going to go to bed early, it just means "what a hard day of work!" just like "la terre est basse" with people from the contryside!
But what I said is about "vivement ce soir qu'on se couche"! the "re" from the original text could mean the person who said it is going to have a boring day of work, maybe exhausting too, and he says this just when he gets off his bed and gets ready to go to his work. there's an expression for the boring work in French, we say "aller au chagrin"...
