This early witness of Tradition became one of the first who tried to bring Christian thinking closer to Greek philosophy; Justin became a kind of keystone which linked antiquity with the novelty of Christianity. I am not entirely sure what you mean in some places here. Could you tell me whether my suggestion below is ok? If it is not, could you explain what you mean? Thanks!
This early witness of Tradition became one of the first who tried to bring Christian science closer to Greek philosophy; Justin became a kind of keystone which linked antiquity with the novelty of Christianity.
In conclusion, Justin brought Christianity closer to philosophy by explaining it using philosophistical language.
Is it definitely 'Christian science'? Not 'Christian thinking' or something similar? It is perfectly correct, grammatically, to speak of 'Christian science', just not very common. But if that is what the Polish text says, we will keep it of course | | | 6 February 2012 13:21 | | LeinNumber of messages: 3389 | No reply, so I have edited as suggested above. Do let me know if you don't agree | | | 8 February 2012 15:29 | | | I do like your editions, dear Lein.
They are much better than mine.
I'm posting you my earlier proposals, which I had given to Justyna:
"This early witness of Tradition became one of the first who was trying to make Christian doctrine closer to Greek philosophy, Justin became a bridge between ancient world and Christian novelties.
To sum up, Justin brought Christianity closer to philosophy explaining it with a philosophistical language".
But I wasn't sure of my edits at all, especially of the "bridge between ancient world and Christian novelties". Your proposal is just great and conveys the source very well.
