Cinlerden, perilerden
Büyük anneler büyük babalar vardı
O zaman hepsi uzaktı ölümden
Hem sevdirir hem korkuturlardı
Acı hikâyeleri bile tatlı başlardı
Gençliğimizi donatırlardı
Hep iyi şeyler hatırlatırlardı
Geçip gitmiş devirlerden
Yanık şarkılarneşeli başlardı
İster istemez saadet taşardı
Gamsız günlerimizden
Duymadan biz düşünmeden
O zaman herkes uzaktı ölümden
Candan sevdiklerimiz vardı
Hepsi başka güzeldi bizi tanımazlardı
Bütün yollarımız geçerdi gül bahçelerinden

Lehçesi İngiliz- U.S olabilir. Puanım yetmediği için şiirin bazı kısımları - kendi kendime çevirebileceğimi düşündüğüm - sildim. Eğer şiirin tamamına bakarrak çevirirseniz sevinirim. Şimdiden çok teşekkürler :)

...Of djinns and of fairies
There were grandmothers and grandfathers
They all were away from death at that time
They used to make us love them and fear them
Even their tragic story used to start joyously
They used to adorn our youth
They always used to remind us of good things
Of ages long gone by
Even sad songs used to start joyously
On the days when we were indifferent
We used to unavoidably burst with joy
Without us hearing and thinking
Everyone was away from death at that time
We had dearly beloved ones
They all were nice individually, never used to know us
On every road we crossed there were rose gardens...

Full version of the poem:

There were such nice people in the past
They covered our childhood
They used to tell us tales
Of djinns and of fairies
There were grandmothers and grandfathers
They all were away from death at that time
They used to make us happy and scared
Even their tragic story used to start joyously
It seems this is why they left stories

There were such nice people in the past
They used to adorn our youth
They always used to remind us of good things
Of ages long gone by
They used to create love and hope
Everything was away from death at that time
Even sad songs used to start joyously
On the days when we were indifferent
We used to unavoidably burst with joy
Those were the days

There were such nice songs in the past
They used to allow us to live in dreams
They used to make us laugh and cry
Without us hearing and thinking
Every moment was like a century
Everyone was away from death at that time
We had dearly beloved ones
They all were nice individually, never used to know us
On every road we crossed there were rose gardens
Those were the days

Hi Lilian,

OK I will. But it may not make sense with the lines randomly written. So I will write the whole poem in the comment field.

Some dots at the beginning and at the end may solve that

Two minor suggestions:

They used to make us happy and scared -> They used to make us to love them and to scare them.

"gardens" is missing in the end, before the dots.

Yes. I misread that line (sevdirmek - sevindirmek): They used to get us to love and make us scared

Actually, that line sounds weird in English.

Do you mean: "They used to frighten us and (also) make us love them."?

There should be no object after love: They used to frighten us and (also) enable us to love
