The aborigines

The aboriginal population immigrated to Australia and many of the islands in Oceania.

About 40 000 – 60 000 years ago the aborigines travelled steadily from southeastern Asia to Australia, and therefore they are one of the world's oldest indigenous populations.

The aborigines lived fairly well, until James Cook and his crew went ashore the Australian continent in 1770.

That was the beginning of the destruction.

The crew used Australia as a penal colony, a place to which convicts who were no longer desirable in Europe were led.
