"how far" doesn't work here. Is there another way to translate "in hoeverre", such as "how much"?

Actually, Laura, I'm really disappointed, because I've asked for the English version in order to evaluate the French one. Unfortunately, the meaning of the English translation tells the opposite to the meaning of the French version, so that it is useless now, hush!

LOL Franky! One of the two must be right or both must be wrong but there's no way both the French and English are correct! What a mess.

I will ask Chantal to have a look at it.

Dutch to english dictionairy (kramers) tells me that 'hoeverre' in English is 'how far'. So that is why I translated this that way (I always use my dictionairy when I am doubing).

With a second look at it in can also be 'in how far'? Or maybe 'how much you would like to know new people'.

Please let me now.

If it were German "in wie fern", I would translate it as "how much" in this context, so I will edit it this way.

Oh, so glad to know that you ppl can't live without me! ;-). The first thing that came to my mind was 'I do not know to what extend you would like to meet new people'. I've checked with the dictionary, and that gives this possibility as well.. Kafetzou, what do you think?

Another possibility would be 'I don't know how you feel about meeting new people'. or 'I don't know to what extend you are positive about meeting new people'.

I think this is one of the Dutch 'sayings' which you can't literally translate into English. (But I do know that the current translation posted is not ok!)

Thanks, Chantal, but now I'm confused again. First of all, that would have to be "extent" (=noun), not "extend" (=verb), but how is "to what extent" so seriously different from "how much"? In English, they're pretty much equivalent.

But I will change it anyhow.
