| FreyaAantal berichten: 1910 | Bună,
Câteva idei:
* beaucoup de cartons... - multe ambalaje din carton (în traducere trebuie să fie doar o variantă, ori laşi hârtie, ori carton.)
* călătoria fuse lungă, dar frumoasa lebădă ajunse în sfârşit. (le voyage fut long, mais le beau cygne...)

| FreyaAantal berichten: 1910 | Hi!
Just to be sure of one line from this text:
"MÃ¥nga kartonger och tunga saker blev det." /" Ceci faisait beaucoup de cartons et de choses lourdes."
I understand only French, but I know "faire" can have more meanings... In Romanian is translated as: "This (one)/It was making a lot of cardboards/carton wrappers and other heavy things."
This is my only question regarding this text.
Thank you very much! CC: Francky5591 pias |

You already got an explanation, but I would translate it: "It became many cardboards and heavy things." |

| FreyaAantal berichten: 1910 | Now I am more confused. Hmm, "it became" like what? The swan's new home? |

| FreyaAantal berichten: 1910 | "It became many cardboards and heavy things" - the old place where the swan lived ? Is it like this to be understood or? CC: Francky5591 pias |

| FreyaAantal berichten: 1910 | I won't accept the translation until we all get to an agreement of translation. This is a sure thing.
Thank you both! |

| piasAantal berichten: 8113 | Sorry if I make you confused Freya!! The meaning: "It became many cardboards and heavy things (to pack/move)"

| lenabAantal berichten: 1084 | Well, this is a way of saying it, that is very much the spoken language, when you put the verb and subject at the end to emphasize.
I'd say: there turned out to be lots of boxes and heavy things.
Or if you're YODA : Lots of boxes and heavy things there turned out to be. |

But...I'm confused now! What has Yoda to do with this translation? |

Thank you for your help, Lena! |

I hope everything is all right now. CC: Francky5591 |

| | Yes, Freya. I think it is the same meaning as the French version. "ceci faisait" is about the result obtained once things were wrapped in boxes, one could figure out only when things were put in boxes. So "it became"/"ceci faisait" have the same meaning here.

| FreyaAantal berichten: 1910 | OK then, pretty hard translation this one. The more comments you see below a translation, the more "heated" was that translation...
Good that Pia brought some color with YODA!
Thank you all! |
