This kind of terminology is not my strongest suit, but I always understood "Legal wage" to mean "minimum legal wage". I could be wrong of course but since this is a vital part of the translation can you tell me whether I am or not? If I am not, would "legal wageS" solve the problem, provided the meaning is "wages according to the law and not i.e. under the table"? CC: dramati Tantine kafetzou | | | 1 Àprilis 2008 08:04 | | | There are several errors in here - "to" --> "on" (the Greek island), "Poland" --> "Polish", and "legal wage" - what does "Îόμιμο ημεÏομίσθιο" mean? Also, "cafeteria" is the wrong word - "cafe" or "coffee shop" would be correct. | | | 1 Àprilis 2008 09:05 | | iriniHozzászólások száma: 849 | I know but these I can sort of correct meself. The "legal wage" one though I can't | | | 1 Àprilis 2008 09:31 | | | legal wage as opposed to min. legal wage. As you asked to know the difference it is, in short, as follows: Legal Wage, or legal wages would include legislated payment for various conditions, such as overtime hours. Legal min. wage is simply the legislated min. that an employer can pay a worker. In some countries this is further broken down to legal min. wage for people under the age of 18 (for instance the min. legal wage for adults and for children in Israel is not the same.
Hope this helps. | | | 2 Àprilis 2008 16:09 | | | Wow - thanks, dramati - I had never heard of "legal wage" before! irini, does this fit with the Greek meaning? |
