| | Hi silkworm,
I'm sorry, but this makes little sense to me. Could you explain it in different words?
Or is it the original that is weird? |

| | hi lilian
yes I can say that it is actually a little bit weird! |
| | 24 Október 2009 00:43 |
| | Well, but how will you explain it differently? |
| | 24 Október 2009 00:48 |
| | I dont know and I cant find any other alternative expression for it... well, you can reject it and let somebody else do it. that would be fine with me |

| | I was just trying to understand the meaning since I don't know Turkish, but if you prefer we can wait until handyy logs in to evalualate your translation. |

| | hmm okay then... the text says sth like this : if you make sb do the right thing, then that is better than just anything existent in this world. |

| | Handyy, could you please take care of this one? CC: handyy |

| handyyHozzászólások száma: 2118 | I would translate it as follows:
If one finds the true path thanks to you, it will be propitious (beneficial/favorable) for you than everything on/over which the sun rises and sets.
Btw, there is absolutely nothing weird with the original. We can say "it will be propitious for you than everything on the world", but this will be different from what the original says.
Lily, what do you say for my offer? Still weird? |

| handyyHozzászólások száma: 2118 | Hi Laura,
what do you say for my offer above? CC: kafetzou |

| | Sorry, Handan, but I'm not familiar with this expression (hidayete ermek). |

| | Sorry - I was really busy this week, but now I have some time. You certainly don't want to say "path through you", as it sounds like the path goes through the middle of you. Handyy, I like your version - here are the choices I would make from your suggestions, with a couple of corrections:
If someone finds the true path thanks to you, it will be more beneficial for you than everything over which the sun rises and sets. |

| handyyHozzászólások száma: 2118 | It's OK. I was busy as well, couldn't have time to deal with the translations.
If your question about "hidayete ermek" still stands, as far as I know, it means "doğru yolu bulmak". But, I checked it and found out that it can also mean "müslüman olmak". So, it will be better to give "If someone becomes a Muslim thanks to you..." as an alternative in the remarks field.
Btw, I really can't believe myself; I made a comparison using "than" above but I forgot to add "more" over there. O my! Thank you so much for your vigilance and help, Laura. |

| | No problem, handyy. Here's a solution to the problem:
I was wondering if this had a religious meaning, too. If we right "true path" as "True Path" (with capitals), the religious meaning is implied:
If someone finds the True Path thanks to you, it will be more beneficial for you than everything over which the sun rises and sets. |

| | I edited it - I hope that's OK with you. |

| handyyHozzászólások száma: 2118 | You're just great! (I hope the days when I can come up with such practical and clever solutions would come one day, hehe.) |

| | Well, it's not always possible, but this time it is. |
