he's already dead for a long time, but i was just wondering if he's still known, because in Austria, he's said to be one of the only Austrian singers who became popular internationally

Yeah, but he was a good singer and it's a shame he died so stupidly...

In the end, he was one of the favorites of many Romanian teenagers in the 80's. Mine also, among them.

P.S. If you believe Austria is a small country, look on the map for Faroe Islands... On some maps they never appear.
Besides, is one of the most beautiful country I have ever been, I spent one week in Salzburgerland and I plan to visit it again, maybe next summer.

Well, there is the theory that he actually didn't really die in the car accident - just like the conspiracy theory about Elvis Presley. I don't want to raise your hopes though.. :P

Yes, it's small but nice =). But there's more to it than only the mountains and perhaps Mozart

I know that, I did not come to Austria only for the mountains. I like very much the people, the houses, the food and the history on the other hand, besides the nature. It gets in your blood once you have been there.

Besides, beautiful mountains are also back home, in Romania. Maybe not as majestic as the Austrian ones, but...

And talking about Falco, in the end, who knows, maybe he lives somewhere, under another identity, as Elvis does...

No, unfortunately I know only to skate (and I love it!)... I would like to learn how to ski one day. By the way, I know you were born with ski boots on your feet, as the Faroese were born holding an oar...

As per the weather...well, come to Faroe Islands and you'll love your weather afterwards. 243 days of rain per year, in average and temperature not higher than 15C in the summer (with small exceptions).

I didnt quite get where you actually live now.. Do you always switch your location, one day Romania, the other day the Faroe Islands? =)

Yeah, in Austria, simply everyone can either ski or snowboard, because you'd just miss so much fun, not being able to. And it's a good way to become active in the cold, grey winters

Huh, well, its not that bad with the rain here and we have also had about 38°C (max.) this summer. But I can imagine, you get accustumed to the climate...

I am from Romania, but I live here in Faroe Islands, because my husband is from here. As per Romania, I try to go home as often as possible, last year I have been there three times, which was a record (and a luxury in the same time). I don't believe I will repeat so soon. I will love to be able to be able to go home wvery other day, to be honest!

how can you ask something like that, pluiepuoco? That proves how little you know about independency and national identity.

But is there a history when Germany was contained in autria-hungary empire? or are they not related?

And forgive me, I have a sense that countries speaking the same can have the chance to unite. I believe many Chinese think the same. That's very logical, since we name a language always by the country name of the nation who speaks it. One Nation, One Country. That seems to be our logic. But the world tells the contrary, some nations have many countries but the same nation (I refer to race).

And We also tell a nation by its language, if two people speak one language, we usually take them the same, but if two people speak two languages different, we usually say they are of different nations.

If a nation's language is extinguished, and changed to another language, we will say the nation is extinguished and has changed to another nation, or assimiliated into other nations. It is really hard for me to understand how people can identify themselves without confusing if they speak the same as other people from different countries, especially when the people is not a single person but a whole nation.

First of all Austro-hungarian empire did not contain Germany, second of all, the German spoken in Germany and the one spoken in Austria are not quite the same. Besides, I don't believe the Austrian people would like to be part of Germany, it's a thing of national pride.

You mix it up, Hitler was the one who occupied Austria in 1933 - the famous and infamous Anschluss - but this was about the 3-rd Reich, which is something else.

If we would apply what you are saying, than northern part of France should go to Germany, half of our Transilvania should be united with Hungary, than Republic of Moldavia should be united with Romania, together with southern part of Ukrain and so on...

The things rae not so black and white, pluiepoco and you should take care, Europeans are usually very sensible when it comes about their countries.

I understand, it's like what we say "fence-sitter", one who changes too often cannot always identify itself.

Today, belongs to A,
Yesterday, belonged to B,
Tomorrow, will belong to C.

But suppose that,

if Prussia exists at present, can we imagine that:
Germany and Austria can unite?

I've got it now in Chinese web information:

Hehe thanks Iepurica for defending my national consciousness - there's really a huge difference between Austria and Germany! (not only concerning the language, which is very different indeed)
What's more, Austria actually likes the status of being a quite small country with a high standard of living and much tradition too much to give it up! And i guess it wouldnt be very good for the economy, if there was such a huge state, like the old Habsburger-empire, involving Germany, Elsaß (France), Northern Italy, Transylvania (Rumania) etc.
