Not cucumis but...

thathavieira, what you've done with this picture is really amazing. Can you easily add new faces or is it a lot of work ? I guess it is a lot of work...

I thought that would be a good idea to display this kind of banner directly on the home page describing what is cucumis. The problem is that there are many faces to add/remove, so I must find an easier way to do it.
That could be done in Flash for example.

I've listened to the guy on YouTube that you thought spoke strange Icelandic, Casper! It sounds as he is saying: 'Ég snakker ækkel íslendsk', "I speak disgusting Icelandic", but I think he says IKKE instead of ÆKKEL.

Wow this is very good with slide.com, I can embed the slide show in cucumis, that would be great.

Despite I'm not sure every member who posted their picture on this thread would like to have his/her face on the home page of cuucmis... What do you think ?

Why not start with those who have submitted their pictures already. I do not mind at least!

I think that it would be great that the first thing new visitors see on cucumis is the faces of people behind the site. In my opinion, one of the reason why some members submit craps and other stupid things, is that many people don't yet realize that, behind a website, there are people

Good reasoning, jp. I don't mind, either. Thatha, I think the first slide version is better - I'm not sure everybody has the right technology to do that mouse slide-over thing. But it sure looks nice!

I've uploaded a test version, only visible by experts for now because I prefer that everybody realize how it looks before going this way . You can view the home page with the slide how here.

I like it, but it would be better if it were centred or on the left side, I think.

Yes of course the banner is opened to every member (not only experts) that have already contributed a little bit on cucumis.

Thathavieira, would you accept to manage this banner? I guess it will be a lot of work. For example Casper doesn't wish to be in, so you must remove his picture. And when we are all agree about it I could post something in the news asking people to send their picture to you. Many members didn't read this topic yet.

I think the template Thais used has a button to make it go faster if you want to(as it's gonna be a LOT o f members).
