Please write in English because our Expert (dear lilian) dosen't know Turkish. | | | 6 Heinäkuu 2010 12:11 | | | My previous message in Eng.: You are right about "Turkish brothers" but, "telefona çıkmak" can never be translated using the verb "open" and the person he will marry cannot be "Europeans" because he can marry only one person and while the person here is a male, the person he can marry is "a European girl".
P.S.: If your expert doesn't speak Turkish, how will she be able to rate this translation? | | | 6 Heinäkuu 2010 16:49 | | | Hi guys,
@ merdogan, thanks for your input.
@ gulbeste,
Of course the ideal would be that the one evaluating a translation mastered both the source and the target language of a translation, however that is impossible. The translation is evaluated by an expert for the target language, that's why the messages must be written in the target language. My job here is correcting the English and after that asking (through a poll) for the help of the community to check the accuracy of the meaning.
So, I don't have to know Turkish to correct a text in English.
In this translation, before setting the poll the correction was:
how come you are that busy? ---> how come are you that busy?
Now, the English is correct. The poll will say if the meaning conveys the original, OK?
