Doesn't "meu amor" must come in accusative: "meum amorem"? | | | 14 September 2007 17:23 | | | Why? Isn't this in English: for you my love for eternity? | | | 14 September 2007 17:25 | | | or this way: my love for you in eternity | | | 14 September 2007 17:30 | | | I think you must figure an implied verb: "Tibi meum amorem in æternum (do)". | | | 14 September 2007 17:33 | | | Not necessary. You can say also "for you my love will always exist for eternity" - Tibi meus amor (est/erit in aeternum). But, it goes very well in both situations . You decide! Sine ira et studio! | | | 14 September 2007 17:54 | | | Goncin, sorry, I don't know what I was thinking, I thought that you are an expert on Latin, that is why I said "you decide".
So finally what do you think? | | | 14 September 2007 18:17 | | | charisgre,
I'm far from being a Latin expert. I just ratiocinated like a grammarian, trying to figure the roles of the words in the sentence.
Let's see what Porfyhr say - he is the one! But I guess we both are right - it's just a choice matter. Don't worry about me, I wanted just to help. CC: charisgre Porfyhr | | | 14 September 2007 18:28 | | | Oh, dear colleagues...
Those Brazilian-Portuguese/Latin translations again.
I would like to have a proper English translation, because it is a bit difficult for me with Portuguese, and the phrase is not completely clear for me.
Goncy, pls?

For you my love forever

With this one, I'm missing only one or two bridges for me to be able to complete a whole lap around the world putting them in a row! | | | 14 September 2007 20:12 | | | Pax tibi! Goncin
Charisgre's translation is unquestionable. |
