Flakfortet is located in Öresund and functioned as a fortress and defense outpost for Copenhagen mainly during World War I. The island has become a favourite excursion among sailors during the past 20 years. In 2001 the island was bought by the Swede Tore Svensson who had the intention to create a unique place for memorable conferences and events. They have also turned the subterranean tunnels into haunted paths... yes we had to walk those without a torch... ugh how scary but the children found it very exciting.
