The year was 1990... I had been a teacher recently. My first place to work was Mardin. I'd got on the bus to go to Mardin from Ankara. The trip had been so long. It was 12 am when I arrived in Mardin. I got off at the station and waited for a shared taxi to go to the Teacher House.
It was 12.30 am when I arrived there. It was already closed. I had no other place to go and I sat in the park which was just opposite Teacher House. I didn't have enough money to stay in a hotel, so I had to spend that night in the park.
