Oh, the heart asks if I love you and my head doesn't listen to me. Oh, the legs are dancing like they want to and this time I really fell in love. |

The head says to the heart not to listen to me (not to listen what I have to say when the heart asks if I love you/him).
Hope you can understand what I mean... | | | 3 September 2009 23:28 | | | That's really weird
You mean that "the head wouldn't listen to the answer" (doesn't want to listen to the answer)? | | | 3 September 2009 23:46 | | | Yes, something like that. This part of the sentence is very tricky (double sense).
Bojana, can you help us here? I'm not sure if I understood well this part of Viktorija's song.

I think she asked her heart and the head too. Heart responded with a question if she loves him, and her head doesn't wanna hear about it.
So maybe we can say it like this
"Heart asks if I love you, and my head doesn't listen to me"
It's like when you're in love. Heart is the only important thing while the head usually stays offline
I know it's not a perfect translation but it's maybe better for English user

Thank you veeery much!
Lili, what do you think about Bojana's explanation?
This is not an easy text to translate... | | | 4 September 2009 01:53 | | | Yes, that sounds really awkward anyway...I'll edit that way.
Let's set a poll and see if someone comes up with something interesting. | | | 4 September 2009 08:45 | | | I think "doesn't listen to me" exactly conveys the meaning of the Turkish text. It might be possible to say "doesn't care about me" but this version seems better. But it should be "my head says that it doesn't listen to me" according to Turkish.
And "the legs are dancing like they want to" seems a little bit different than Turkish original; it should be something like "my legs (the legs) are dancing on their own." | | | 4 September 2009 10:42 | | | the heart ...> my heart ...> my brain
my head doesn't listen to me...> my head says it doesn't listen to me |
