There is another work found called MecmÃ»-i HafÃ®za (Memory Collection), which also includes puzzles and riddles in verse and in proze, in Diwani script and three other languages. The Thuluth and Naskh calligraphic scripts of Sidqi, who was at the same time a valued calligrapher, were used as models by the painter Ã–mer Efendi. Mention is made of a work of his including a land measurement presented to Ahmed Pasha, the Grand Vizier Tahir Bey of Bursa.

	kafetzou Αριθμός μηνυμάτων: 7963	Why would that flow better? The parenthesis serves the same purpose as the appositive set off by commas, but it implies that the information is unnecessary, which is not indicated in the Turkish original.

	samanthalee Αριθμός μηνυμάτων: 235	I don't quite agree with the view that things in parenthesis are unnecessary. If they are unnecessary, they shouldn't be written at all. My concern here is that the subject matter is "the scripts", every part of the sentence should be refering to "the scripts". "Sidqi" is the subject detail; details of the subject detail shouldn't form part of the sentence.

	samanthalee Αριθμός μηνυμάτων: 235	Opps, you are right. That's the grammer rule for Chinese. Sorry, when I find something doesn't read well and tries to pin-point the reason, the grammer rules for both my native languages start mixing up. Adding "who was" really helps.

	kafetzou Αριθμός μηνυμάτων: 7963	I don't understand pirulito's message above, but this is how the system works: The experts are experts for their target language (usually their mother tongue) and they can approve translations from any language into that language. Usually, if we have no other information, we ask other translators to help with evaluation if we don't know the source language, and after we get enough positive feedback from other translators, we validate the translation. Do you think there's a problem with this translation? It was a difficult one, as the Turkish is very old (probably transliterated Ottoman Turkish), so it's possible I misinterpreted something. Your feedback would be welcome.
