Modern science and technology demand the creation of new scintillation materials for recording high-energy ionizing radiation. One of the most promising materials for these goals is monocrystalline bismuth orthogermanate. However, bismuth orthosilicate possesses better scintillation characteristics in comparison with bismuth orthogermanate (for example, its highlighting time is three times greater), but due to the complexity of cultivation of orthosilicate monocrystals from a fusion, obtaining them remains an unsolved problem.
