Our students are eagerly looking forward to the first letters, as well as the information about the students from the UK.

?
Does this word mean "correspondence," i.e. writing back and forth to each other?

Communication is referring to contact. Originally it was written as contact but it did not sound right. Anyway, it refers to a form of communication. Thank you for your corrections. The meaning is right.
