Are their restrictions to allowed translations as this term might be perceived provocative?

Yes. If it is proven to be offensive, we'll remove it.

English experts, could you take a look here, please? Thanks!

Hi,

As I learned sod off is sort of an English English word for F--k off. I don't know how offensive it is, but in any rate, if it is a request only to translate one word they could go to an online dictionary. If the question is about slang being offensive, I think that we should not censor slang, but probably should not allow racially offensive, explicitly pornographic material, or sexist translations simply because they are in bad taste. I do not think if I found sod off in an otherwise acceptable translation I would reject the translation.

I don't think "sodemieter op" or "sod off" is thát offensive, really.
That's why I decided to translate it, if it would have been clearly offensive, I wouldn't have.

I don't think it's as offensive as "F--k off!" - it's more like "Get lost!".

I would add that our "job" is to translate, and not to "judge" what others wish to have translated. As long as a text is not of a racist character, or incites pedophilia, we should not let our personal opinion interfere with the contents of a text.

I agree. If somebody wants to know what something means, and one of us knows, why not share that knowledge?
