en chile estudie enfermeria a nivel superior

Title
Studera i Chile.
Translation
Sweeds

Translated by lilian canale
Target language: Sweeds

Studera på hög nivå vid sjuksköterskeskola i Chile.

Remarks about the translation
Since the text lacks diacritics, there are two possible translations. The one chosen was:
Study nursery at high level in Chile.(imperative)
but it could also be:
I studied nursery at high level in Chile = Studerade på hög nivå vid sjuksköterskeskola i Chile.

I think that your translation is right Lilian, (I trust you) but since my Spanish=0, we better ask the poll too.

Is it only my impression, or you translated the sentence putting the verb in the infinitive, lilian? It seems to me the verb in the original text is in the past tense, and some accents are missing: "en chile estudié enfermería a nivel superior".

Hm ...maybe you shall write "Studerade vid..." if this is past tense. ?

I translated it into imperative, actually.
I was also in doubt about the exact meaning, that's what happens when a text in the request lacks diacritics. What made me decide about the tense was that in Spanish if it was past tense it should have probably been "he estudiado", but of course we can't count that the writer would use the correct tense.
I think we could write the alternative translation in the remarks. And, of course set it as "meaning only"
What do you think?

Isn't "nivel superior" a "university level" or something like that?

Lilian,

I can see that your votes are positive but what about Caspers question ?

Yes, "a nivel superior" means at university level.

Stupid question now ...but

Is it better then to write: "Studera till sjuksköterska på universitetsnivå i Chile."

Is that the meaning?

I'd rather leave it as is. I think using "high level" conveys the meaning better.

That's ok! I feel a bit like I am hunting you Lilian, but since I don't understand Spanish as you know ..I have to ask all this questions.

Ooops, I saw something now, we are Not using "high level" in the text.

förstklassig = first-class
hög nivå = high level

But I agree with you to leave it as it is.

Remember my first translation?
It was:
"Studera hög stånd sjuksöterskeskola i Chile"

Yes, but you can't write like that...

"Studera på hög nivå vid sjuksköterskeskola i Chile"

Better?

Lilian,
is the meaning here that the school is a "first class school" or that the studies are at high level (like university) ?

I don't get it, sorry!

the studies are at high level

Ok
So my suggest is that we start a new poll now, since the meaning is different after your edits.

I'll do that!

I wonder why so many people voted positive..
