You have completely been one of us. When will we marry you off? |

最新記事 | | | | | 2011年 9月 21日 18:13 | | | Hi handyy,
I think "marry you off" has a different meaning; something negative. "Pair you off" is more suitable. What do you think? | | | 2011年 9月 21日 19:01 | | | 'Marry you off' is an expression I understand; 'Pair you off' is not very clear for me. 'Marry you off' does not sound negative to me - it is something you could say to a friend, probably as a joke. | | | 2011年 9月 21日 19:53 | | | First, I traslated like that. But when I looked at dictionary, its definition was something like "to find a husban or wife for someone - used in order to show disapproval". I too changed as "pair you off". Maybe it's not literal translation but I thought it gives the meaning.
If "marry you off" sounds good, no problem then. | | | 2011年 9月 21日 23:53 | | | Uhh, I didn't see this discussion around here.
Yep, the meaning is just what you said, Lein; it is some kind of joke.
Rollingmaster, as far as I know, "pair off" means "birini ya da bir ÅŸeyi, birisiyle ya da bir ÅŸeyle eÅŸleÅŸtirmek" not "evlendirmek", so I don't think it's suitable here. | | | 2011年 9月 21日 20:31 | | | Thank you both |
