I know that "exile" is a bit strong, but I'm using it more in the figurative sense than the literal here.

This translation reflects the following interpretation: The person is sad because he has no more friends - maybe they've all gone away to foreign lands. So he says to gurbet/exile, a personified force, that it doesn't matter anymore - even if it strikes again, there's no-one left to be taken away from him.

I rejected a translation into French, because she didn't mention "back" in the French text. I would like to know "who's"back at home, is it the guy who is speaking, or is it some friend who used to live with him?

To be honest, I'm not sure it means "back at home" - I think it means what I wrote above at 14 August 2007 06:20, but it's not totally clear.

serba, is it clear whether the speaker is the one who is away from home or whether he means that all of his friends have gone away from home?
