Hi casper!!!

"Long time no hear" :-), really nice to hear from you again!

Sure, you're on target as always - I cut the "men" out since the meaning makes sense without it.
Then again if you want the "men" in the sentence you have to reconstruct it in a way that does not make more "meaning" in Swedish anyway (the "men" is there "beteween the lines" for a Swede as is anyway if you get my drift..?)
If we put the in "men" - I suggest to rephrase the whole sentence:
"slut på veckan... men det är bara det att temperaturen är så dålig/galen (or "kass" = Swedish slang - it would avtually sound much better in this context..!)"

Nice hearing from you!

But there's no "just that", "bara det att" on the portuguese text.
I just say that it would be "men temperaturen är". Is it wrong?
You can see what I said and my bridge on the rejected one.
"Só que" is an informal way to say "mas" -É fim de semana... mas a temperatura está tão maluca (que não podemos aproveitar) .

Hope it's helpful.

Yes casper,

It's just the way to make it sound Swedish.
If translated word by word it's no good Swedish expression.
Just tried to make some correct "meaning" and common Swedish out of it.

Thanks for your attention!

Hi Anita_Luciano,
I know that you are familiar to both Portuguese and Swedish...could you please take a look here.

Is it ok now ?

Hello everyone!

I have to agree with Casper, I would definately also just have written "men temperaturen är.."

Ah, and it doesn´t say "the end of the week" (slut på veckan), it says "weekend", which - as far as I know - would be "veckoslut" in Swedish ("the end of the week" could even be a Thursday or a Friday whereas "weekend" only refers to Saturday and Sunday).

And just one more little thing: Couldn´t "maluca" be translated to "konstig" or "märklig" or "sällsam" or maybe even "förryckt"? (in Danish, I think I would have written "underlig" or "tosset" or "skør" ).

figge2001,
my proposal is that you do a few edits here.

"veckoslut...men temperaturen är så galen"

ok?

"galen" is good, but Other alternative to "galen" could be oberäknelig, ombytlig, oförutsägbar

What do you say Mats

It must be more informal, Pia.

Someone remind me recently that you can't translate word by word from one language to another, and that is true!!
So (now I 'm a bit of a "hoppjärka" ... shilly-shally) maybe after all..the best way of put this translation is just the way it is, I think that Figge2001 has cathed the meaning well.
Thanks a lot to Anita and Casper Good to hear your opinions, since my knowledge of Portuguese = 0.

bara det att is a word by word translation, Pia.
That's why I started this discussion.
