Remarks about the translation
Inglese tecnico.

We tested the product you delivered on December 10th, 2008, comparing it with the sample you had sent for testing in 2007. We noticed that the product of 2008 makes a good deal of foam and the product of 2007 makes a little, they are different.
Why are they different?
Why does the product of 2008 make more foam?

Urgently awaiting a written response, I send best regards.

I would say 'they are not the same,' instead of 'they are not equal.'

I just used "equal" because in the remarks the person who made the request asks for a "technical" vocabulary. Perhaps "alike" would fit well.
What do you think Jenna?

Yeah I think alike would work better Equal is usually used regarding quantities, stature, etc...

Eg; 'the two boys were of equal height...'

On second thought, to say 'they are not alike,' might possibly come across as meaning, 'they are not similar at all,' which they are.

Perhaps it would be best to change the sentence to convey the meaning from Italian... maybe 'there is a difference between the two' (meaning they are alike and have similar qualities but are not the same) what do you think?

I think that change may solve the issue
