Thanks for providing this bridge, Jumana, but I wouldn't be able to translate this text into French without being afraid to miss its meaning.

Talking about the original text (of course, at my level, according to the bridge you did from it),it lacks context to be understandable (thus translatable). Moreover it seems this lack of context is due to the fact this sentence seems to be trunked ( missing part would be what is said before "The origin..." ). Actually we only have the part that is relative to the missing one ( "what calls for arrogance" )

Not only for translating this kind of text, I'd be embarrassed, but I'd also be feeling this way if it were about evaluating a translation into French from this text, as I would be unable to tell whether the translation is accurate.
