Thanks for your welcome suggestion, it sounds allright. Indeed, I found it difficult to find the correct translation for 'Monsieur le Directeur', as it also depends on the kind of organization. I would prefer 'Dear Mr ...' in an e-mail, which is often less formal than a letter and perhaps the writer knows his director personally.
