Guilon, Casper, help, please...what is that SKA? (Jamaican music?)
What about... "cross my nation" ???
I guess I'm just getting too old !!! | | | 30 November 2007 15:58 | | | lilian,
I don't know what's "ska" either (seems to be a musical rhythm), but "cross my nation", IMHO, is "cruzar mi paÃs" ["atravessar meu paÃs"].
Hope it helps, | | | 30 November 2007 16:11 | | | Goncin:
I know "cross my nation" means "cruza mi paÃs". What I'm asking about, is the meaning of the words, in this text. All that doesn't make any sense to me. Of course , lyrics are most of the time meaningless for those who are not fans of the style of music...
Should we translate "literally"? I don't think so.
Anyway, I found out about SKA and it is exactly what I supposed: A Jamaican musical style of fast beat. | | | 30 November 2007 16:18 | | | I'll turn SAP key off here...

lilian,
Eu interpretaria "Don't cross my nation" como algo do tipo "não invada meu território", "este é meu território demarcado, não entre nele", o que parece fazer sentido considerando-se o verso anterior "Don't piss me off" ["Não me encha o saco"]. | | | 30 November 2007 21:03 | | | Então acho que devemos fazer um curso de gÃrias variadas!
Como vamos saber exatamente o qué traduzir?
"Do the rock you baby ya" seria o qué???
Você arriscaria traduzir e ser "bombardeado" por uma semana?
Not me, baby! I've had enough!
hahaha |
