Well, there are some expressions which can't be translated literally.

"quedarse con ganas" is one of them.

"estar com ganas" is rendered into English as:
"to feel like doing"
"quedarse com ganas" means "estar con ganas de un poco más", (feel like doing sth more) so...

"We both felt like having more love" translates exactly what the original intends
