The form 'spróbuję' is from "spróbować", a perfective verb, and this form indicates future tense. CC: Una Smith | | | 6 October 2008 09:18 | | | Oops! To me, given the context in this text, the verb should be aspect imperfective and tense present. I see your point, though, which is that the s- prefix makes it a perfective verb, in which case there can be no present, only future: "I will give it a try". That is idiomatic, and I will make the change.
The future perfective being identical in form to the present imperfective gives me fits. In English there can be a present perfective, so I can "break" this Polish rule, if it helps. In this case, it does not help. (I am soo tired!)
