"DO BONFIM AD BAHIA"
Almost sure that it is a typo and should be "DO BONFIM DA BAHIA". That means "FROM BOMFIM OF BAHIA"
The word AD doesn't exists in Portuguese. If it is not a typo the only explanation that occurs to me is that the author was mixing a little of Latin just for fun. | | | 28 Mart 2008 13:09 | | | And what means BOMFIM and BAHIA? CC: Borges | | | 28 Mart 2008 20:40 | | | I bet it's a typo.
It is probably: DO BONFIM DA BAHIA.
That's what makes sense. | | | 28 Mart 2008 20:10 | | | | | | 28 Mart 2008 20:35 | | | | | | 28 Mart 2008 20:52 | | | Obviously I had no idea!But I don't think I could translate that.. | | | 29 Mart 2008 13:03 | | | I translated that, but I have a question: Here Bonfim is like a region? | | | 29 Mart 2008 13:32 | | | No, is only the saint ["Senhor do Bonfim" - "Our Lord of Good Destiny"] to whom the church is dedicated. |
