Isn't the meaning of the Danish text rather something along the lines of 'to be reasonable doesn't do anything', meaning it doesn't do any good, instead of 'it doesn't do any harm'?
(Of course this would mean the translation of the second part would then change too but I'm trying to work out if I understood the first part correctly).

Hello LEIN. The meaning is.: "It does not matter to be reasonnable/to be reasonable doesn't matter".
Jairhas' translation gives in Danish: " At være fornufig skader ikke". I don't agree.

I would say: Being reasonable doesn't matter.

And "cause no harm" is in Danish "skader ikke" just as gamine said. But on the other hand people say "det skader ikke" or "det gør ingenting" having the same meaning with "cause no harm".

My translation would be:

It's ok to be rational as long as your heart is in it too.

Hej Anita.

Hi again Jairhaas,

Lots of experts chipping in here...
What shall we do?
As far as I can see,

- 'cause no harm' may not be the best wording here
- I can grasp the meaning of the Danish text but not well enough to know whether it should be 'reasonable' ('fair', 'within reason') or 'rationable' (decided by using logic and your brain, not your heart). Looking at the rest of the text, 'rationable' seems a more logical choice here, as well as being Anita's preferred option.

If you want to edit, go ahead! If you don't, I think I will reject this translation to give someone else a chance because it looks like too many experts disagree to various degrees with the translation as it stands.
Your choice

I support Anita's suggestion. She is a very good expert and we can rely on her.
