I'm looking at the Dutch text as basis, since I cannot read Turkish

'nieuwsgierigheid':
worry
curiosity

Well, merdogan...is that "worry" or "curiosity" after all?

OK sorry for being a "pain in the butt", but the Dutch translation is very bad! "Wanneer ga je komen" is like saying in English "When you go to come" which of course does not make sense. It should be "Wanneer wil je aankomen" or "Wanneer verwacht je aan te komen" or "Wanneer ben je van plan om aan te komen" or "Wanneer kom je aan" since the verb to arrive is aankomen, no one says komen when it means to komen where I am am as the speaker.

Then "zeg het nu" should be "zeg het me nu".

That is probably why the English translation sounds so bad and a bit funny because "When will you come my dear" means a different kind of "come" therefore it should be "When are you arriving my dear" or "When are you doing to be here, my dear"

Then "I will die because of worry" is bad English. "I will die of worry" or "I will die from worrying" is the correct form.

I don't think merdogan translated from Dutch.

But you are right when you say that it would sound better : "I will die of worry"

So, merdogan...what do you say?

'worry' is bezorgdheid
niet nieuwsgierigheid

Merdogan, if you insist that the word is "worry", perhaps the Dutch translation should be reviewed. I think kfeto used "curiosity" instead.

Or maybe it could be "anxiety" or "distress" or even "concern"?

I didn't see kfeto.

OK, then.

Anyway, kfeto I'd like you to give your input here.

Meraktan could be "curiosity" or "anxiety" but I think in this context "curiosity" is better.

hi all
like turkishmiss says 'merak' is curiosity in turkish. using worry/concern is a stretch if you dont know the context. who says the person awaited is in any predicament?

@Aspie dat klinkt allemaal doordacht maar het engels is inderdaad niet vanuit het nederlands vertaald
'me' in de tweede zin gebruiken is niet echt nodig he als je de persoon rechtstreeks aanspreekt. tis vrij duidelijk aan wie het moet gezegd worden
'ga komen' ipv van 'zal aankomen' word hier in Vlaanderen wèl gebruikt en voor een vertaling enkel in 'Meaning only' zal het wel voldoen
