Isn't this source text in Finnish (meaning "seven days" )?
It's certainly not Japanese!

Great! It is in Finnish! Thanks, goncin!
So, Maribel, could you please tell me what
päivää
means in English?
(Could it possibly mean "Hello"?)
Thanks!

Päivää! Good morning! Good afternoon!

The word päivä means day, but cucumis is not a dictionary.

Now is too late to delete this request, unless the japanese version is wrong and became rejected.

Well, if
päivää
means
good day, the translator is right, and we can accept it!

Maybe I should wait just a bit more, to see what Maribel has to say, just in case?

This is ok.
When you say good afternoon, we say hyvää päivää,
very often in shorter form päivää. (The use is quite close to hello but päivää is maybe a little bit more formal, of course hyvää päivää is still more formal...) We have different greetings for early morning and for evening/night - päivää is the most flexible of these timewise.

Thanks, Maribel!
I can validate the translation now!
