Can you explain what you mean?
Is he saying that he wishes he were a nightingale so that he could fly to her?
If so we need and inversion here for a sentence starting with "if only". | | | 2 April 2008 08:11 | | | Hi Lilian,
I also didn't understand it...kfeto, thank's 4 translting...but could you explain it? | | | 2 April 2008 16:52 | | kfetoNumber of messages: 953 | ok i changed it a bit
Wel it's in the 3rd person singular so it can't be: 'if only i were'
it is also in the conditional tense hence the use of 'if only'
turkish is genderless so 'it' can be substituted with he/she.
I've heard this line in turkish often but in the first person with 'olsaM' and 'varsaM'(maybe the requester got it wrong)
I don't know what you mean by inversion?
@ ozlem: neyin bulbul olupda varmasini istiyor?
acaba 'olsam' ve 'varsam' mi olmali? | | | 7 April 2008 14:39 | | | Slm Kfeto,
çevirin için teşekkür ederim...şimdi türkçe öğreniyorum ama hâlâ biraz kelime biliyorum.
Tümcede "olsa" ve "varsa" vardi...
